Our HISTORY
The Federation of Poles started in 1947, when the British Government formally withdrew recognition of the Polish Government in Exile. From that time until 1990 The Federation represented the interests of the Polish immigration with respect to British authorities.
Subsequent to the transfer of the Presidential Insignia by President Ryszard Kaczorowski to President Lech Wałęsa, some responsibilities were vested in The Federation. The Federation was recognised by both Polish and British governments, as well as other Polish organisations world-wide, as the organisation representing the Polish ethnic minority in Great Britain. The Federeation exists not only to both promote and defend the interests of the Polish ethnic minority in Great Britain, but also to promote Polish history, culture and traditions among the British people.

Our Goals
✅ Representing the Polish community in the United Kingdom before the Polish and British governments, public institutions, and international organisations.
✅ Cooperating with the Senate of the Republic of Poland as the institution responsible for supporting the Polish diaspora and fostering Polish community initiatives abroad.
✅ Building relationships with British institutions and the European Union to protect the rights and interests of Poles living in the United Kingdom.
✅ Organising national, state and patriotic commemorations and ceremonies.
✅ Supporting and integrating the Polish community through cultural, educational, and social initiatives and events.
✅ Strengthening Polish organisations in the United Kingdom by creating a platform for cooperation, knowledge sharing, and joint action.
✅ Promoting Polish culture, history, and heritage within British society and the international community.
✅ Cooperating with Polish communities worldwide by representing a common voice and building a global network of the Polish diaspora.
✅ Encouraging civic and community engagement among Poles through public awareness campaigns and by promoting participation in public life and elections.
✅ Continuing the legacy of the Polish Government-in-Exile as the successor to its mission and heritage of representing Poles living outside their homeland.
